Kroger’s rewards program changed in June 2026. What used to be called Fuel Points are now simply Points, and you can no longer use them only at the pump. What Changed in Kroger’s Rewards Program?
For more than two decades, Kroger fuel points could only be redeemed for gas discounts. In June 2026, Kroger expanded the program:
- “Fuel Points” were renamed “Points”.
- You can now redeem Points for dollars off groceries, in store and online, including pickup and delivery.
- Fuel discounts still work exactly as before.
- You can split your Points between groceries and fuel.
How to Earn Kroger Points
- Shopping: earn Points on eligible purchases in store and online when you use your Shopper’s Card or phone number.
- Boost membership: Boost members earn 2X Points on purchases.
- Promotions: look for bonus Points offers, such as 4X Points on selected gift cards or on certain days.

How to Redeem Points for Groceries
- Sign in to the Kroger app or kroger.com.
- Open your Points balance and choose Redeem Points.
- Select Grocery Dollars and choose how many Points to use, in steps of 100.
- The discount applies automatically at your next checkout, in store or online.
Important: redeem your Points before you check out. For pickup and delivery orders, you can apply them in your cart.
How to Redeem Points for Fuel
- Visit a Kroger Fuel Center or a participating partner station.
- Scan your Shopper’s Card or enter your phone number at the pump or with the cashier.
- Choose how many Points to use, in 100-point increments, up to $1 off per gallon.
- Fill up. The maximum number of gallons per fill-up and partner stations can vary by location.
Groceries or Gas: Which Gives You More?
The simple rule: 100 Points are worth $1 on groceries, but on fuel they are worth 10¢ per gallon.

Points expire at the end of the month after the month you earn them. For example, Points earned in March expire at the end of April. The new grocery option is a great way to use leftover Points before they expire, even if you do not need gas.
